The chronic illness journal

Your health,
in your own words.

For the days you can barely think. Whisper how you feel — by voice or by watch — and Vaely turns it into a record your doctor can use.

iPhone, Apple Watch. Free tier with unlimited voice logging. Pro from $4.99/month.

At the end of the day, I forget what my name is — never mind what I had for breakfast. — A patient on chronic illness journaling

Every chronic illness app asks you to navigate a form during your worst moment. Vaely asks you to whisper. The app does the rest.

Three things, done well

A journal, a doctor's appointment, and a promise.

Doctor-ready reports

Executive summary up front, charts and medication arcs next, your own journal entries at the back. Plain English alongside common medical terms, headed Personal Wellness Journal Summary — Not a Medical Document. Structured for the eleven minutes your doctor has with you.

Pre-visit briefing names the three patterns worth bringing up. Post-visit voice debrief captures what the doctor said before you forget.

Talk to log

Describe how you feel in plain language. The on-device AI extracts the dose, the symptom, the severity, the time — and shows it to you to confirm before it saves.

Voice or text. iPhone or Apple Watch. Works in seconds, even on the days you can barely think.

How natural-language logging works

Nothing leaves your phone

The AI runs on your device — Apple's on-device language model, the same chip that runs Siri. We never see what you write because we have no servers that receive it.

The App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected. That's not a promise. It's an architectural fact you can verify.

Where your data lives

What you generate

The PDF your doctor will actually read.

Executive summary on page one — the three patterns worth bringing up and the medication arc. Charts on pages two through four. Your verbatim journal entries from pages five through twelve. Headed Personal Wellness Journal Summary — Not a Medical Document. Generated on your phone in seconds. Print it, AirDrop it, attach it in your patient portal.

The architecture

Your health data can never be subpoenaed from our servers.

Because there are no servers. The journal lives on your phone. The AI runs on your phone. The doctor PDF is generated on your phone. The encrypted backup file is encrypted on your phone, with a key that is intentionally not synced to iCloud Keychain — a line of code we wrote on purpose.

Most privacy-first apps make a promise. Vaely made an architectural decision. The two are not the same.

Voices from the community — paraphrased.

These are composite paraphrased voices, drawn from publicly visible chronic-illness community discussions. No individual is quoted.

By the time I sit down with my doctor, I have forgotten what I came in to say. Then I get home and remember the three things I should have brought up.

Every app I have tried wants me to fill out a form on my worst days. Those are the days I cannot fill out a form.

I just want a record that exists outside my head, so that when I am too tired to advocate for myself, the data still does.

For anyone who needs it

Reduced Rate — $29.99 a year. No questions.

If you're on disability, fixed income, or you simply can't pay full price right now, Vaely Pro is yours for $29.99 a year. There's no income verification. There's no proof we ask for. The tier is listed in the App Store. You select it during onboarding, or any time later in Settings.

We have real costs — Apple's cut, the team, hosting, legal, the rest. What's different about Vaely is that the AI runs on your phone, not a server we rent. Adding one more user doesn't grow a cloud-inference bill. That's what makes a $29.99 price work without being a loss leader: the unit economics support it, so we can offer it without strings.

A few questions worth answering up front

You probably want to know.

Is this an Android app?
No. Vaely is iOS-only, by design. The on-device AI that makes "talk to log" possible depends on Apple's Foundation Models framework, which doesn't exist on Android. We won't be on Android.
What if I get a new phone?
Two options. Write your entries to Apple Health (your data survives in the system you already trust), or generate an encrypted backup file you control. You move it the way you'd move a family photo — by AirDrop, by Files, by iCloud Drive. Your call.
Will the AI actually understand me?
It's the same AI that understands Siri's most private features, running on the same chip. And every time it extracts something, you review and approve before it saves. Nothing is logged you didn't see.
Is this a medical device?
No. Vaely is a personal wellness journal, not a medical device. The AI summarizes what you wrote. It does not diagnose, predict, or replace your doctor. The PDF heads with Personal Wellness Journal Summary — Not a Medical Document.

It's 2:47am. You can't sleep. You don't want to think.

You whisper. Vaely listens.
