Frequently asked · Six sections
Plain answers,
in detail.
The questions a careful patient would ask before downloading a chronic-illness app — and the careful answers we owe in return. Read in full or jump to a section.
01 Getting started
The first day, and the choice of conditions.
Is the free tier really free?
Yes. The free tier is free, forever, and includes unlimited natural-language logging by voice or text, the daily timeline, medication reminders, basic Apple Health read access, the weekly summary, the Apple Watch widget, the basic Siri shortcut, and three doctor-ready PDF reports per year. We do not gate the conversion engine behind a paywall.
Do I have to create an account?
No. Vaely has no account system. Your data lives on your device, identified by your phone, secured by your phone's existing authentication. There is no Vaely password to forget because there is no Vaely login to use.
Which conditions does Vaely support?
Any chronic condition where day-to-day symptom tracking matters. Onboarding configures the AI for the conditions you select; common ones include fibromyalgia, migraine, endometriosis, PCOS, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, ADHD, Crohn's, ulcerative colitis, long COVID, EDS, MS, IBS, and chronic fatigue syndrome. Custom tracking metrics in Pro handle anything the defaults do not.
What if I have more than one condition?
Select all of them in onboarding. The AI tunes the system prompt accordingly, the symptom templates expand to cover all selections, and the doctor PDF accommodates multiple conditions in the same report. Most chronic-illness patients have more than one diagnosis. Vaely is built for that as the default, not the exception.
Can I import data from another app?
Not yet. Importers for Bearable, CareClinic, and Apple Health Notes are on the roadmap but are not at launch. Apple Health data the App can read directly (sleep, heart rate, HRV, steps) is read on first run if you grant permission.
02 Pricing and subscriptions
What it costs, what it does not, and how Apple handles billing.
What does Pro add over Free?
Full conversational AI analysis, retrospective pattern observations across months of your data, medication effectiveness tracking, pre-visit briefings, post-visit voice debriefs, unlimited doctor-ready PDFs, advanced charts, custom tracking metrics, the full watchOS companion app, advanced Siri shortcuts, all five export types, caregiver sharing, and the gamification suite (off by default).
How much does Pro cost?
$4.99 per month, $39.99 per year (a third less than monthly), or $29.99 per year on the Reduced Rate tier. A three-day free trial applies to all paid tiers.
How does the Reduced Rate tier work?
It is a separate visible tier listed in the App Store at $29.99 per year for full Pro access. There is no income verification. There is no proof we ask for. You self-select it during onboarding or any time later in Settings. Apple processes the charge. The dedicated Reduced Rate page explains the worldview behind it.
Can I switch tiers later?
Yes. Open iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions and pick a different tier. Apple handles the proration. Your data stays on your device regardless.
How does payment work? Where does my card go?
Apple processes every transaction through StoreKit 2. We never see your card number, billing address, or your name as it appears on your card. Refunds and cancellations go through Apple — Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Will pricing change after I subscribe?
If we ever raise prices, you are grandfathered in at the price you signed up at. We do not raise prices on existing subscribers.
03 Privacy and data
What we see, what we never see, and how to verify it.
What does the App Store privacy label say?
Data Not Collected. Across every category — Contact info, Health & fitness, Sensitive info, Identifiers, Usage data, Location, Diagnostics — we declare "None." Apple verifies the label against the app's actual behavior. The label and the architecture match because they describe the same truth.
Is my health data sent anywhere?
No. The on-device AI runs on Apple's Foundation Models framework, which performs inference locally. The retrieval system uses Apple's NLEmbedding to generate vectors locally. The local database is SQLite with sqlite-vec, on your device. No journal entry, no AI output, no doctor PDF, no encrypted backup leaves your phone unless you explicitly export it.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. We have nothing to sell or share. We do not, and we will not, sell consumer health data, share it for behavioral advertising, or provide it to data brokers. Our privacy policy is the formal statement; the architecture is the proof.
How do you make money if you do not collect data?
Subscriptions, processed by Apple. The economics work because the on-device AI runs on the chip in your phone — we pay nothing per query, regardless of how heavily you use the app. The most engaged users cost us the least, which is also why a Reduced Rate tier is sustainable.
What about backups?
You can generate an encrypted backup file on your phone. The encryption key is created locally and intentionally not synced to iCloud Keychain — a code-level decision recorded in our source. You move the file the way you move a family photo: AirDrop, Files, iCloud Drive, your choice. Without the key, the file is unreadable.
What if Apple subpoenas my data through Vaely?
There is nothing Vaely could provide. We have no servers that hold your journal, no database that records your entries, no telemetry stream that reflects your behavior. Subpoenas to Vaely return no responsive records. Subpoenas regarding Apple-controlled data (HealthKit, iCloud Drive if you used it for backup transfer) would be governed by Apple's policies, not ours.
Can I delete my data?
Yes — instantly. Delete the App, and iOS removes its sandboxed data. There is no Vaely server to email, no account-deletion form to fill out, no waiting period. The data lived on your device and ends when you decide it should.
04 Features and the AI
What the app does, what it does not, and how the AI is bounded.
Does the AI diagnose me?
No. Vaely is a personal wellness journal, not a medical device. The AI summarizes your own journal entries. It does not diagnose, predict, prescribe, or replace any clinician. The PDF heads with "Personal Wellness Journal Summary — Not a Medical Document." Outputs are framed as "your journal shows," never as "analysis indicates."
How accurate is the natural-language extraction?
The extraction targets above 95% accuracy on dose and quantity, above 90% on symptom identification. More importantly, every extraction is shown to you for confirmation before it saves — anything off, you correct in one tap. Trust through review, not through claimed accuracy.
Does it predict when I will have a flare?
No. Vaely does not predict, does not produce risk percentages, does not produce prospective scores. The AI surfaces retrospective patterns from your own journal — what already happened, what your entries showed, what trends emerged. The framing is "your journal shows X," never "your risk is Y."
Can I track custom metrics?
Yes, in Pro. Build any metric your condition needs that the defaults do not cover — pain location maps, blood sugar, fatigue spoons, side-effect intensity, anything. Custom metrics flow into the same charts, the same patterns, the same doctor PDFs as the built-in ones.
What about safety reminders?
The App detects, on your device, certain words that may indicate a medical emergency or self-harm risk and presents a safety reminder — typically suggesting that you contact emergency services, a crisis line, or a trusted person. Detection is keyword-matching, not clinical triage. The reminders are over-inclusive on purpose. No data leaves your device as a result.
05 Devices and compatibility
iPhone, Apple Watch. iOS only. Permanently.
Which iOS version does Vaely require?
iOS 26+, watchOS 26+. The on-device language model that powers natural-language logging is Apple's Foundation Models framework, which is iOS 26+ only.
Which iPhones run the full feature set?
iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, plus all iPhone 16 and newer (A17 Pro / A18 chip, 8 GB RAM). On older hardware running iOS 26, Vaely runs in fallback mode — structured input with intelligent search via Core ML and NLEmbedding; all non-AI features fully functional.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. The iPhone is sufficient on its own. The Apple Watch makes voice logging accessible from the wrist, which matters most when holding a phone is painful — but it is not required.
Will Vaely come to Android?
No. Vaely is iOS only, permanently. The on-device AI that makes voice-first logging possible depends on Apple's Foundation Models framework, which does not exist on Android. We will not ship Android.
Will Vaely come to the web?
No. The web is a poor surface for the brain-fog logging moments Vaely is built for, and a worse surface for an architectural privacy claim. Native iOS only.
06 Help and support
How to reach a person.
How do I contact support?
Email tezaapps@gmail.com or use the contact form. We aim to respond within 48 hours during the work week.
Where do I report a bug?
Same as support — email tezaapps@gmail.com with as much detail as you are willing to share (iPhone model, iOS version, what you were doing when the bug appeared, screenshot if relevant). We do not collect crash logs automatically; user reports are how we hear about issues.
Can I request a feature?
Yes, please. Email tezaapps@gmail.com. We do not have a public roadmap voting system; we read and weigh every request.
How do I exercise my privacy rights (access, deletion, etc.)?
Email tezaapps@gmail.com with the subject line "Privacy Request" and a description of what you would like us to do. We respond within the timelines applicable law requires. The privacy policy and the dedicated rights page detail every right by jurisdiction.
Did not find your question
A real person reads every email.
If your question is not above, write to us at tezaapps@gmail.com or use the contact form. We aim to respond within 48 hours during the work week. There is no chat widget, no automated responder, no ticket-routing system. A person reads what you sent and writes back.
