Pricing · Four offerings
What it costs,
and why.
Vaely is built so the most engaged users cost us nothing extra. Apple's on-device language model runs the AI; we run no servers; every additional patient is free for us to serve. That structure shapes the prices below — and it is the reason a Reduced Rate tier exists at all.
Apple processes every transaction. We never see a card number. A three-day free trial applies to Pro.
Free
For starting, and for staying.
Unlimited natural-language logging by voice or text. The whole conversational input system, not a teaser. We do not gate the feature that turns "I forgot to bring that up" into a record.
- Unlimited voice or text logging — iPhone, Watch
- Daily calendar and timeline view
- Medication reminders (local, no push server)
- Apple Health read access — sleep, heart rate, steps
- Apple Watch complication and widget
- Basic Siri shortcut: "Hey Siri, log my headache"
- Three doctor-ready PDF reports per year
- On AI-capable iPhones — weekly summary, pattern observations, and the ambient journal, included free
Pro · Monthly
For trying it on.
Full Pro access. Same features as Annual, billed monthly. The right choice if you want to try Pro for a few months before committing. Cancel any time in iOS Settings.
Three-day free trial included. After the trial, $4.99 per month until you cancel.
Pro · Annual
If you only choose one.
Three honest Pro-only benefits. Most patients with chronic illness journal for years, not weeks. The annual price respects that.
Unlimited Doctor Reports. A polished PDF for every appointment, with your own words next to common medical terms. On Free, three reports per rolling year. On Pro, generate as many as you need.
Custom Tracking. Define the conditions, symptoms, and measures that matter to you. Add a metric, give it a name and a scale, and it shows up in your daily logging and in the Doctor Report.
Detailed logging with Siri. Capture symptoms, severity, and medications in a single hands-free sentence. The basic Siri shortcut is free for everyone; the detailed multi-field version is Pro.
That is the entire Pro feature list. AI features — weekly summary, pattern observations, the ambient journal — are not Pro-gated; they are free on every AI-capable iPhone because the inference runs on your device, not on a server we pay rent for.
Three-day free trial. $39.99 once a year, until you cancel.
Reduced Rate
For anyone who needs it.
Full Pro access at a lower price for anyone on disability, fixed income, or simply unable to pay $39.99 right now. Listed in the App Store as a separate visible tier — Apple requires it to be available to everyone. No income verification. No proof we ask for. The honor system, on purpose.

See the doctor PDF before you decide.
A real (anonymized) Vaely-generated doctor report. The same format you'd hand your physical therapist, your rheumatologist, your GP — generated on your phone, headed Personal Wellness Journal Summary — Not a Medical Document. Sixteen pages: executive summary, charts, and the patient's own journal entries verbatim. Plain English alongside common medical terms.
Anonymized data, real format. Your reports look exactly like this — generated on your phone, never on a server.
I'm too tired and sick to press a hundred buttons on my symptom tracker app. — Patient verbatim, gathered in 2026 from public chronic-illness communities
Every tier above includes natural-language logging because the alternative — pressing a hundred buttons — is the reason most chronic-illness apps end up unused. We charge for the analysis, the doctor PDF, the Watch app. We do not charge for being able to log at all.
Pricing questions, answered
The plain answers.
What does the free tier actually include?
Unlimited natural-language logging by voice or text — the whole conversational input system, not a teaser. Plus the daily timeline, medication reminders, basic Apple Health read access, the weekly summary, the Watch widget, the basic Siri shortcut, and three doctor-ready PDF reports per year. The free tier is genuinely useful on its own. We do not gate the conversion engine.
What does Pro add?
Full conversational AI analysis (the "why am I worse on Mondays" questions), retrospective pattern observations across months of data, medication effectiveness tracking, pre-visit briefings, post-visit voice debriefs, unlimited doctor-ready PDFs, advanced charts, custom tracking metrics, the full watchOS companion app, advanced Siri shortcuts, all five export types, caregiver sharing, and the gamification suite.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Pro has a three-day free trial. You can cancel anytime in iOS Settings.
How does payment work?
Apple processes everything through StoreKit 2. We never see your card number, billing address, or your name as it appears on your card. To cancel a subscription or request a refund, you go through Apple — Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
What is Reduced Rate?
A separate visible $29.99/year tier for full Pro access. No income verification, no proof we ask for. Surfaced in onboarding for self-identified disability or fixed-income users. The full Reduced Rate page explains the worldview behind it.
Will pricing change after I subscribe?
If we ever raise prices, you are grandfathered into the price you signed up at. We will not raise the price under you. Annual subscribers get more notice than monthly, by definition.
Is there a lifetime tier?
Not yet. We are holding lifetime pricing until we have ninety days of subscription data. We would rather price it well once than poorly today.
Free to start.
Pro when it earns it.
Three days free. Then $4.99 a month, $39.99 a year, or $29.99 a year on Reduced Rate. Apple handles billing. You handle the rest.
